DID YOU KNOW THAT OUR FACTORY IN ESPIEL CONTRIBUTES TO A CIRCULAR ECONOMY MODEL?
Let us tell you something you probably didn’t know about our factory in Espiel: it contributes to the development of a circular economy within the group. Read on to find out more about us and how the Group works.
The Espiel plant is exclusively dedicated to the extrusion of PET laminate and the coextrusion of PA, PE, PP, EVOH, being the only factory in the group dedicated to the manufacture of rigid and semi-rigid laminates. It is the main point of supply for all our clients that consume these materials.
How does the Espiel plant contribute to the circular economy?
In 2016, we began to manage the Tray2Tray circular economy project. This project aims to make better use of resources by giving materials a second life. Together with a waste-management company, we set up the project to recycle and reuse all monolayer PET food packaging with or without barriers. The plastic is separated in order to re-introduce it into the production process.
Which plastic can be reused?
– The excess plastic from the manufacture of SP Group laminates
– The defective plastic from SP Group laminates
– The excess plastic from the food packaging process
