Types of Flowpack Packaging

The Flowpack formats are classified according to the direction of the packaging process. Below are the two most common configurations:

Vertical Flowpack

Vertical Flowpack is mainly used for products fed by gravity, such as granules, powders or snacks. The material is formed into a tube by a vertical former, enabling high productivity and good pack stability. In this format, strong sealing capacity is essential, especially under high-speed conditions or in the presence of product particles.

Horizontal Flowpack

Horizontal Flowpack is designed for products with a defined shape, such as bars, trays, secondary rigid packs or single items. This packaging type allows high throughput, precise product control and excellent on-shelf presentation.
