FOURTH IN THE RANKING OF SPANISH FLEXIBLE PACKAGING COMPANIES BY REVENUE!
Last October, ALIMARKET, the leading magazine in the FMCG industry, unveiled its annual report on flexible packaging. Besides dissecting market trends, the report disclosed the revenue-based ranking of companies in the sector, and we are delighted to announce SPG clinched the fourth spot in this ranking by commanding a 5.4% share of the market. The total market figure for 2022 stood at €2.3 billion.
It is noteworthy that 2022 unfolded amidst uncertainties stemming from raw material shortages, price fluctuations and apprehensions related to the new plastic tax. Despite initial hesitations, the sector successfully navigated these challenges, forging ahead confidently towards a more stable future. Notably, companies investing in sustainability, eco-design, and quality have achieved the best results. In this vein, SPG focused on investing in enhancement, exemplified by the deployment of photovoltaic panels at both our facilities in Córdoba — a decisive move in our commitment to a more sustainable energy model.
SPG brought in €190 million in total sales for the year 2022, with €125 million attributed to flexible packaging. This positions us as the fourth-ranking company by revenue in the sector in Spain, motivating us to continue enhancing our solutions to meet the actual needs of our customers. Looking ahead, our future objective is to consistently develop practical solutions aligned with market and consumer needs, with a primary focus on achieving the highest level of sustainability.
