Discover Naturtray: Leading the way in recyclability and sustainability

Naturtray, our sustainable solution available with over 85% paper content continues to gain significant recognition across Europe for its eco-friendly design. This material has already been certified as recyclable by Citeo in France, backed by the rigorous validation process conducted by CEREC, covering both the white and brown versions of the product.

Meeting European Recyclability Standards

Naturtray meets and exceeds the key recyclability requirements set by leading European organizations:

Citeo (France): A minimum of 85% paper content is mandatory.

Fost Plus (Belgium): Requires 85% paper, with all adhesives used being water-based to comply with strict sustainability guidelines.

We are also progressing towards the prestigious Forevergreen Corporate certification, a Europe-wide recognition that will further position Naturtray as a benchmark in sustainability and recyclability within the packaging sector.

Preparing for CEPI’s 2026 Harmonization

The CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) has announced new harmonized recycling standards for Europe, set to take effect in 2026. These standards will require packaging materials to contain at least 90% paper, with only minimal allowances for other components. At SPG, we are proactively adapting our processes and materials to align with these future regulations, ensuring we remain at the forefront of sustainable packaging innovation.
