SPG drives the transformation of the agri-food sector with a major European innovation project

SP Group has been selected to take part in an ambitious innovation initiative to develop new sustainable and digital solutions that guarantee food safety and full traceability throughout the vegetable processing value chain. The project, based in southern Europe, aims to create a positive socio-economic impact while promoting more sustainable production and packaging models.

This strategic programme is backed by European NextGenerationEU recovery funds through the Spanish Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, reinforcing Europe’s commitment to a greener and more competitive food industry.

A collaborative effort with broad impact

The initiative brings together more than twenty leading agri-food companies across Europe, including SPG, to deliver solutions that cover the entire value chain—from production and processing to packaging and distribution.
SPG’s contribution focuses on developing new industrial-format packaging made from recyclable and recycled materials, designed to help small and medium-sized food companies move towards more sustainable packaging.
