SUCCESS STORY: BOFROST*

BOFROST* wanted to find a material that aligned with sustainability guidelines and contributed to its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). That’s why we suggested trying our PE ECO product in coil format.

It is important to understand that, for a significant part of their cycle in the warehouse, BOFROST* products are preserved in vehicles at a controlled temperature ranging from 30 to -18ºC. In addition, there is some friction between products and the laminate the company had been using led to low production rates because of broken packaging and open seals. Now, with PE ECO, their packaging is much more flexible and there are fewer rejects.

The Quality Department at BOFROST* has confirmed that they are pleased with how use of this sustainable spool is going and, even if the sealing time in the packaging machine is longer, production rates are better and there are fewer breakages, which translates into a shorter resealing time. In other words, the time it takes to seal the bag is compensated by the decrease in the time spent resealing and the improved production. Furthermore, the spool is helping the company to achieve its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sustain its commitment to Social Corporate Responsibility with a view to 2030 goals and the company’s recyclable packaging policy.
