Our sterilizable and recyclable PP HB ECO material is a polypropylene-based laminate with high-barrier properties, designed to replace non-recyclable structures containing aluminium foil, metallised coatings or multimaterial laminates.
This structure has been developed by SP Group to provide FMCG companies with a solution aligned with the objective set by the European PPWR regulation: that all packaging placed on the European Union market must be recyclable by 2030, while also promoting reuse, waste reduction and the use of recycled materials where appropriate.
PP HB ECO has been assessed by the CYCLOS-HTP Institute and certified as recyclable within the PP recycling stream already available in several European countries. PP HB ECO pouches have achieved a recyclability score of 91%, as the packaging is made almost entirely from polypropylene.
As for PP HB ECO pouches with baby food spouts, CYCLOS-HTP assessed them through the rigid PP recycling pathway and certified the packaging with a recyclability score of 96%.
Properties:
It stands out for its high degree of transparency. It has a high barrier, and withstands heat treatments, such as sterilisation, pasteurisation, hot-fill and microwaving.

Market applications of this material: It is ideal for any products that require sterilisation treatment, such as sauces or food products containing some kind of sauce or liquid, as well as pre-prepared dishes. Also ideal for wet pet food.
